Dayton's National Museum of the United States Air Force

We spent two days at this museum, and even that wasn't enough time to see everything. It's an enormous collection of very early aircrafts to today's drones and everything in between. They have over 360 planes and bombs on display! Tours of old Air Force One planes are offered, but fill up as soon as the museum opens each day so we have not yet done that.

The outside of this plane has been removed to show what's underneath.

Walking thru the inside of a plane.

This B2 stealth bomber was kept secret for many years and thought to be a UFO until finally revealed to the public. It has such a cool body shape.

An early unmanned aircraft.

A replica of a shuttle that astronauts actually used for training purposes.

This satellite is pretty incredible. It was launched in the 60s and had a canisters of film to take surveillance photos from space. When a roll was full, it would eject the canister with a parachute and tracking device. A plane would intercept it mid air and bring it back to study!

There are a ton of exhibits and memorials to explore outside the museum.

And even more airplanes to explore outside.

This was a 4D ride that took us thru a shuttle launch. The kids really enjoyed it but were a little confused by the whole thing since the movie and the movements were so realistic.
