Waterton Lakes National Park

Waterton Lakes National Park, located in Alberta, Canada, shares its main lake (pictured above) with Montana. Actually the land just on the other side of the border is Glacier National Park in Montana.

Driving to the park.

Our favorite hike here was the Bear's Hump. It's a rather steep hike but steps help you reach the top easier.

We stopped along the way to work on the Xplorer books.
And THIS is the view from the top!

What a fantastic ending to a hike!

We could see our campsite from here.

They found a grasshopper at the top!

Walking from the hike back to town.

The national parks in Canada all seem to have a little town within the heart of the park. Not only are there restaurants and shops, but homes where people live. The town of Waterton is such a cute, quaint town right along the lake. We enjoyed walking around there and playing along the lake's edge.

Look at all the different colors of the stones!

Here's a look at our lovely campsite along the river. We saw quite a few deer walking between sites.

We woke early to drive out to Red Rock Canyon for a hike. Unfortunately the shadows were quite harsh, but you can see that it's a beautiful area. If it was a bit warmer we would have loved playing in the water.

Our time in some of Canada's most beautiful national parks was incredible.
We are leaving with lots of wonderful memories of our time here.
