Anacortes, Washington

In Anacortes (pronounced anna- CORE- tis), we stayed at the Swinomish Casino's RV park. The view of the islands from our site was just fabulous!

The only negative aspect was the train that came thru at about 3AM and sat on the track right in front of us for about 20 minutes. Not sure if it was waiting for the track bridge to swivel around to continue or if it was picking up/dropping off people at the casino.

Of course my favorite part was the wetlands right here which meant some fun birding opportunities. A bald eagle stayed perched on a tower nearby almost the entire time we were there.

I spotted this baby killdeer with his family.

We took the kids to yet another place named Washington Park to play
and hike around. I LOVE playgrounds right next to the water.

The view of the San Juan Islands from here.

We did a little tide pooling here. Asher found some crabs and things in the rocks.

We stayed our last night in Washington at the Lynden KOA where we met up
with our friends before we set off on our drive to Alaska together.
