Driving to Alaska {Yukon border to Whitehorse}

Day 7

After a week of driving, we enter Yukon, Canada.

We saw tons of what they call, rock graffiti, on along the road. I actually think it
looks pretty neat. It's just rocks arranged on the side of the road to spell words, names, etc.

We stopped at Rancheria Falls where we hiked thru the boreal forest to two waterfalls.

After our hike, we stayed to eat lunch at the covered picnic tables here. Glad we did because we ended up meeting a couple, Rich and Katie, who live in Eagle River, very close to where we will be spending the summer! It turns out we'd spend quite a bit of time with them over the summer and really enjoy their friendship.

If there's snow, he's going to be in it!

We settled for the night along the lake in Teslin.

The RV park there has a nice little museum that the kids and I enjoyed. Here we saw what a bear den looks like.

Day 8

Asher helped Daddy clean our windows before we began our drive.

We decided to boondock in the Walmart parking lot in Whitehorse. This has to be the best Walmart location we've ever stayed in due to the marsh right across the street! We spent the early evening walking the trails and birding the marsh. This photo was taken from my kitchen table around 11pm.
