Mama started the new year off right by hiking Mt Goodman in Red Rock Canyon with
friends on New Year's Day! Courtney led the hike for Julie, Giles, Jenny, AA and myself.
It was a beautiful, sunny but chilly day. I love the juxtaposition of seeing snow on the cacti.
We were greeted at the top by a golden eagle soaring above us, my first bird of the new year.
A fantastic place to reflect on the past year and look forward to all the possibilities that 2016 holds. It's such a beautiful, peaceful place....from which you can see the Las Vegas strip far in the distance, a place that just the night before was the complete opposite of where we are now. A view of two extremes.
After signing the log, we soaked in the views while eating lunch
before it was time to head back down the mountain.
We played on this super slick ice patch for a bit. I was spinning around in circles, silly fun!
