DAY 6
Boya Provincial Park deserves it's own post. This is one of my favorite campsites EVER!
Here's Journey at our campsite on the water's edge. Look at that beautiful blue water!
As soon as the RV was setup we took off on a hike.
The water is so clear you can see the rocks on the bottom.
While Daddy prepared dinner and Deann played with the kids, Courtney and I went for a longer hike to a beaver dam on the other side of the lake.
We spotted about a dozen Bohemian Waxwings here, lifers for both of us!
A bird met its demise, but the predator left one lone egg.
Beavers were here.
While checking out this area, I managed to spot a beaver on the other bank. We watched as he swam towards our side. A few minutes later, he started smacking the water with his tail. We learned that this was an alarm signal for his beaver buddies.
The dam does a good job of holding back the water so that it doesn't freeze as fast as the rest and provides the beavers with a food supply during winter. The water is more than a foot higher on one side.
A bear clawed this tree up high and a woodpecker made a large hole just below that.
Another jam session with Asher and Journey participating this time.
