Florida beaches (Nokomis, Port Charlotte and Stump Pass)

Nokomis Beach is a fun place that also has a jetty which makes for
nice boat and fisherman watching. Journey is on the jetty watching a pelican.

It's a popular place to hunt for shark teeth, evidenced by lots of
people using these metal baskets to help them sift thru the sand.

The kids love looking for and collecting interesting shells. Another one of his finds.

The one shark tooth I found that day. My first ever!

Journey holding this little white bug we found in the sand.....we later learned it's a sand flea, yuck!

We had so much fun, we returned the next day with our Fulltime Family friends, adventuringwhilewereyoung.

The kids had a blast playing together and we all saw a dolphin swimming right off the beach!

We found this Fighting Conch which was pretty entertaining. It would
come far out of it's shell and swing around trying to turn itself over.

One day we stopped at Port Charlotte Beach for awhile. A couple kids found a crab
and a baby horseshoe crab (that was dead) and gave them to us when they left the beach.

Checking out the crab.

Setting him free.

We spent a day at Stump Pass State Park hunting for Megalodon teeth. On our way there we swung by the dollar store and picked up a couple strainers which worked well for sifting thru the sand. There is a large sand bar that we had fun playing on. Asher and I spotted a jellyfish and a large crab in the water! We didn't find any Megalodon teeth, but I did find 9 other shark teeth!

  1. I can’t imagine focusing long enough to research; much less write this kind of article. You’ve outdone yourself with this material. This is great content.
