The Most Beautiful Flight {Somewhere Over the Andes}

 

Our flight to Santiago, Chile was the most beautiful flight I remember. When we lifted off from Córdoba, Argentina, I could see the patchwork of farmland, the mountain range which included the fabulous Gigantes we had climbed earlier in the week and Lago San Roque, the lake where we stayed in Villa Carlos Paz. (Top of the second photo.)

A little later we saw the enormous salt flats, sand dunes and then finally the snow-covered Andes Mountains with green alpine lakes and glaciers! I probably took 100 photos during the flight and barely looked away. 

This may look like snow, but it's an enormous salt flats called Lago Pampa de las Salinas.

I believe this aquamarine lake is Cajon del Maipo.
