Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument's unusual rock formations and canyon make for a fantastic place to explore. Just make sure to double check the GPS directions. It should only take 10 minutes or so from Cochiti Lake campground. A different location by the same name comes up on Google Maps and wants to take you an hour away.
I love the layers including the snow capped mountains in the distance!
Every twist and turn of this hike was amazing. We had no idea the hike would include navigating a slot canyon thru crazy shaped mountains of rock and end with a gorgeous view from the mountain top! This turned out to be one of our favorite hikes in the US. We'll definitely have to do this again someday.
