Our friends, Karla and Yuliana took us for a hike from the square in Vélez to a lovely waterfall. We started at 530am which is a beautiful time of day when a blanket of thick clouds hung between the layers of mountains.
We came upon a playfull German Shepherd, which absolutely loved when Yuliana threw a stick for him.
We walked towards Chipatá until we turned between two homes to walk a narrow path between farmers' fields.
After navigating some super muddy parts, we made it to the waterfall. Journey swam while Asher checked out rocks and captured a crab.
A lovely day, but the best part was time spent in conversation with new friends! They taught us some Spanish tongue twisters and lots of words/sayings that are specific to this region.
